Import XTensions for QuarkXPress 8

You can easily use the XTensions
„DOCX ImportXT“ or „ODT Import XT“ for QuarkXPress 8 MAC/WIN.

Import limitations

These Import filters are made primarily to import the text documents by the way you want.

• It is not working to import Pictures from MS Word.
• It imports tables as a Tab-Separated text.

If you import document with styles sheets, some styles are not exactly the same as in the original MS Word file. It is caused by two problems:

1) in Quark you cannot use two styles with the same name, so check that in the original documentthe styles have different names

2) some styles in Word are made on character style  - if it uses font you have not in the system, the font is replaced by character style font without notifying you.

 

Import settings
Choose how you like to import the document.
• Import with Styles, as you used to do before (Including Style Sheets).
• Import only three primary attributes: BOLD, ITALIC, SUPERSCRIPT,
and easy apply your QuarkXPress styles on imported text. Text will
be imported into Normal Style Sheet, and only these three
attributes will be imported as a style exception.
• Import text without any attributes.

 

Installation

MAC OS X
Run Installer, fill in the serial number and the validation code.
Then choose (verify) the path to the installed QuarkXPress 8 and press „Continue“.
New XTension will be added to the „XTensions“ folder in the QuarkXPress application folder. It’s MS Word 2007-2008 Filter.xnt or OpenOffice.org Writer Filter.xnt.

WINDOWS
Run Installer and follow the instructions.
New XTension will be added to the „XTensions“ folder in the
QuarkXPress application folder.
